Loop Explorers is an early demo of a reverse tower defen that is build around our favorite part of Loop Hero, tile placement.

The current focus of development is making the core loop game mechanic fun and strategic. Additionally, we are actively working on balancing the game to ensure that every tile is useful and interesting.

The progression and art are still early and need more development. We like the general art style (thanks Sunnyside) but need to find an artist help build build it out so the tile icons appear more like buildings.

We are actively seeking feedback on:

  • Core loop: what is/isn't fun and strategic?
  • Balancing: while tiles are OP, which are useless? 
  • Screenshots of winning islands.
  • UX: was anything confusing?

Nice idea! I think the gold mine triggers many battles which in turn give more rewards is a little imbalanced. Spreading out the mines create a series of trivial battles and the global rewards stack up. Probably have a limit on number of encounters per loop, where the number of monsters may group up to stack the risks will be more balanced.

I usually don't like tower defense. But I really had fun with you game! :o

The characters are so cute and the whole idea is just very enjoyable.
